By organizing figure and still life elements suggesting symbolic interpretations,
my work deals primarily with ideas regarding man's mythologies and his relationship to the earth.
My current images reflect a commitment to a fuller understanding of indirect painting systems.
I am interested in a variety of old master painting techniques and continually experiment
with color and methods of application. In my most recent work, layers of oil color are
superimposed over a carefully modeled underpainting.
These divisions of labor enable me to concentrate on a variety of issues
while achieving more control over form and detail.
