   "Have"; a meditation on the desire for more: 
more material objects, more skill, more self-understanding 
in relation to art and life, whatever it may be, a goal 
many of us struggle with is to "Have"; and how to desire 
what you already"Have" is a meditation that painting this
piece begged questioning. Is to possess to have?
	A major influence of this piece was my experience living 
in downtown Florence, Italy (Fall 1999).  For the painting 
course there, professor and artist Lorenzo Pezzatini 
encouraged our group to paint "from the gut". "Seeing painting 
as a conversation with the self," I found this approach extremely
challenging and inspiring.  Living in the artistic city of 
Firenze, Italia was incredible, and the thirst for "my mark" 
in painting grew.  I craved and was satiated by the surrounding
Fine Art, old and new.
